How to teach alphabetic codes in English?
In the above video, we have discussed English alphabetic code and its various sounds and alternative spellings. Certain sounds can be pronounced in multiple ways, such as the “s” sound, which can be represented by different letter combinations like “s,” “ce,” “ci,” ,”cy”, etc. In Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar, we teach the alphabetic code progressively from lower kindergarten to grade six, covering basic sounds and alternative spellings. In the above video, you will see how one can use the alphabetic code chart in the classroom to engage students and help them identify alternative spellings in words.
